The Team

Team 6722 is a student led club hosted out of Wendell Krinn Techincal High School with the majority of the team are students as well. We also have members that are from surrounding the area as well. Mentors are their for guidance and suggestions as well as best effort to ensure that students stay on task and are well informed.

FIRST

FIRST, which stands for “For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology,” is a nonprofit organization founded by Dean Kamen in 1989. Structured around a high-school robotics competition, the FIRST Robotics Competition is much more than just a competition, combining gracious professionalism with technology to create an environment that fosters a deeper appreciation for science and technology. Professional mentors as well as college students partner with teams to teach students valuable engineering and professional skills while helping the team succeed. Furthermore, FIRST teams are encouraged to spread the word to increase appreciation of Science, Technology, Engineering & Math in society as a whole. In addition to the FIRST Robotics Competition, FIRST sponsors the FIRST Tech Challenge, designed for high school teams that may not have the resources to participate in the FIRST Robotics Competition. For younger students, FIRST has developed the FIRST Lego League and FIRST Lego League Jr. programs. For More Information, Visit FIRSTInspires.org

Outreach

Giving Back To Our Community

Team 6722 is very fortunate to possess certain resources not available to other teams. Because of this, our team is devoted to spreading our resources to other teams in the form of outreach. We want to inspire more people to pursue an education in STEAM, and help our community. So we are always doing events to bring the wonders of robotics to everyone.

Since the beginning of our team, we have used our skills in robotics and engineering to spread the interest of STEM all over the world.  Look for more info on these events in the near future! We give other teams an opportunity to compete as well as meet and learn from our team members!

Geared For Girls

LED Robotics created Geared for Girls to break down gender stereotypes related to jobs and careers in STEM. We are to introducing girls to a male dominated field, in this case engineering, by implementing fun activities that will create interest and excitement. We collaborate with Marlow Elementary School to gather a group of girls with different backgrounds that are interested in a future in STEM. The reason we excluded boys is because we wanted to empower these young girls and realize they are capable of accomplishing anything a boy can do. Geared for Girls is our way of reaching out within our community and putting STEAM within reach of younger students to try and put a positive impact of STEAM related activities to try and inspire them to pursue a interests in different fields ranging from Science Math, Computer Science or Engineering with some added Art.
